General Data Protection Regulation:  

On the 25th May 2018, the Data Protection Act (DPA) was superseded by a new regulation – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).


What does this mean to our members? The BPDC, as part of its membership process collects personal data that is held on file by the club, all of this up until now has been done to comply with the DPA, the club holds/stores this data and is exclusively used by the club to record membership details and subscription payments and so on. It does not share this data with any third parties.


New members applying to join the club after the 25th May 2018 will complete a revised application form agreeing that their personal data is held by the club in accordance with the GDPR. The club will continue to hold existing members’ personal data however under the new GDPR rules individuals have a right to refuse consent and have their data withdrawn from the club database.
